Supplement virtual and home learning by joining us for a mixed-age Google Classroom! This option covers the fall semester of membership to our Bloom Classroom! We'll have a parent meeting in August and start up in September. Learn more here. Two sessions will be recorded and uploaded weekly for three weeks of each month. We will meet Live once a month for an hour for movement, club meetings, and sharing what we've been learning!

Class recordings will include:

  • Monday's Video: The first video of the week will include an academic challenge and a club challenge. Academic challenges will be play or problem based tasks based on learner interests and universal learning standards (I'll check the different standards for states based on who joins our class!). These will inspire playful learning and problem-solving all week long. Badge challenges are designed and submitted by learners! Each week, I'll share a different badge challenge and learners can try to complete the challenge for a badge!
  • Thursday's Video: The second weekly video will include an invitation to share what you've learned this week and mindful movement or crafts! With the help of their adults, learners can share what they've leared via photos, text, video and chat discussion and photos (you get to post these in our classroom!). We learn through discussion and through community members (learners, teachers, adults) affirming our identities as math problem solvers, pre-writers, readers, art makers, etc. Our mindfulness session will feature yoga and/or a mindful craft.
  • You'll also get a monthly downloadable activity guide to go along with the videos!
  • Learn more and print a getting to know you sheet here! Enrolling in The Bloom Classroom? Send me a pic of your kiddos' sheets!

Teaching Notes:

  • Parents should be in the room and ready to be hands on with kiddos ages 4-6. Parents should be within ear shot of kiddos ages 7-10. Live sessions will be recorded but they will ONLY be shared in our paid, password protected Google Classroom.
  • I use a play and problem based approach to teaching and learning. I strive to be an anti-racist, anti-biased educator. In my classroom, all learners will learn to use their voice and power to advocate for themselves and others.
  • I will provide a basic supply list for the year and tips for what is needed each month, but I will strive to only use things you'd have on hand. A yoga mat will be handy, but a towel or blanket can work as well.
  • To keep the cost of this program low, I will only be available for logistical questions from parents. If you want more one-on-one support, please join me for coaching! I will host quarterly parent meetings to do gather feedback, etc.

Enrollment in the Bloom Classroom is included for varying number of months in long-term coaching packages OR as a stand-alone.

Join today! I'll email you a Google Form so we can plan our parent meeting and session meeting times.

The Role of the Coach

The role of a Coach is designed with each Client throughout early sessions. “Coaching” is a Professional-Client relationship designed to facilitate the creation/development of personal, professional or business goals and to develop and carry out a strategy/plan for achieving those goals. Coaching is a comprehensive process that may involve all areas of life, including work, finances, health, relationships, education and recreation. Deciding how to handle these issues, incorporate coaching into those areas, and implement choices is exclusively the responsibility of the Client. Coaching does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental disorders as defined by the American Psychiatric Association. The Coach is not a/n employee, medical care provider, mental health care provider, business analyst, nutritionist, business manager, or financial accountant. If the Client expresses the need to work with another professional helper, the Coach will, if possible in the allotted time frame, help make a referral. The Coach is not obligated to, and will not; (1) procure or attempt to procure employment, business or sales for Client; (2) perform any business management functions including but not limited to accounting, tax or investment consulting, or advice with regard thereto; (3) act as a public relations manager or as a publicist to procure any publicity, interviews, write-ups, features, television, print or digital media exposure for Client; (4) introduce Client to Coach’s full network of contacts, media partners or business partners, or (5) make or imply any guarantees whatsoever of earnings or earning potential.

The Role of the Client

The Client is fully responsible for the Client’s physical, mental and emotional well-being during coaching calls, including choices and decisions made as related to coaching calls. The Client can choose to discontinue coaching at any time. The Client is aware that coaching is not a substitute for counseling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, mental health care, or substance abuse treatment and the Client will not use it in place of any form of diagnosis, treatment or therapy. If the Client is in therapy or otherwise under the care of a mental health professional, the Client has consulted with the mental health care provider regarding the advisability of working with a coach and that this person is aware of the Client’s decision to proceed with the coaching relationship.

Confidentiality and Privacy

The Client is aware that information will be held as confidential unless the Client states otherwise, in writing, except as required by law. This coaching relationship, as well as all information (documented or verbal) that the Client shares with the Coach as part of this relationship, is bound by the principles of confidentiality set forth in the ICF and BCC Codes of Ethics. It is recommended that the Client review these Codes of Ethics and the applicable standards of behavior. Confidentiality cannot be maintained by the Coach in instances involving illegal activity, pursuant to valid court order or subpoena; imminent or likely risk of danger to self or to others; etc. The Coach will keep handwritten notes in a locked filing system when not in use. Digital information will be kept in password protected systems. No personal information will be shared without written permission. All intellectual property, including Program materials, will remain the sole property of the Company. The Client will not copy and redistribute tools used during the Program without a written agreement with the Coach.

Limitation of Liability

The Client shall indemnify and hold harmless the Company, Company’s officers, the Coach, affiliates, trustees, and successors from and against any and all liabilities and expenses whatsoever - including without limitation, claims, damages, judgements, awards, settlements, investigations, costs, attorneys fees, and disbursements - which any of them may incur or become obligated to pay arising out of or resulting from the Program, excluding any expenses or liabilities resulting from a breach of this Agreement or sole negligence or willful misconduct by the Company. The Client recognizes and agrees that all of the Company’s officers, the Coach, affiliates, trustees, and successors shall not be held personally responsible or liable for any actions or representations of the Company. As part of my payment for the right to participate in the Company’s Programs, the undersigned, my heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns release and indemnify the Company, Company’s officers, the Coach, affiliates, trustees, successors, as well as the venue where the Programs are held (if applicable) from all actions, causes of action, contracts, claims, suits, costs, demands and damages of whatever nature or kind in law or in a equity arising from my participation in the Programs.
